Workplace and employment mediation: scale of fees
We appreciate that costs can be a significant issue and our aim is to provide a cost effective professional service where fees are proportionate to the issues involved.
The fees cover the mediation itself and pre-mediation preparation. This includes reading any essential documents and arranging for the mediation meeting.
Full day mediation (up to 7 hours mediation plus reasonable preparation time):
Dispute between two employees:£500 (plus VAT) Fee usually payable by the employer
Dispute between employer and employee £750 (plus VAT) Fee usually payable by employer
Half day mediation (up to 4 hours mediation plus 1 hour pre-mediation preparation)
£350 (plus VAT) Fee usually payable by the employer
Any additional mediation time is charged at £75 (plus. VAT) per hour.
We don't charge for travel costs under £50.
Please note that if you need the mediator to draft the settlement agreement, this will attract a further charge. This is because it is an additional item of work. If clients have legal representatives, they will usually draft the agreement.
Late payments: People Mediation reserves the right to charge interest at 8% over Bank of England base rate for all invoices outstanding after 30 days.
Mediation has access to high quality venues in Central London including facilities for photocopying. We can often provide the venue for free, but if we do have to charge, we always try to ensure that venue costs are kept as low as possible. We will aim to agree these charges with clients in advance and will provide details in the invoice.
